Feature & Follow: Blurb Hooks

Hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read
The idea of this hop is to answer a weekly prompt provided by the hosts, Rachel from Parajunkie.com and Alison from Alisoncanread.com.

This week's prompt:

10 book blurbs that got you hooked.

My Answer:

Can I cheat and say, "All of them?" Ok, I guess not.

1. Wicked Ties by Shayla Black

She didn't know what she wanted...

Until he made her beg for it.
A willing player in Jack's games, Morgan knows that his motives aren't pure, but she has no idea how personal they are...

2. Three by Ted Dekker

Enter a world where nothing is what it seems. Where your closest friend could be your greatest enemy.
Kevin Parson is alone in his car when his cell phone rings. A man calling himself Slater offers a deadly ultimatum: You have exactly three minutes to confess your sin to the world. Refuse, and the car you're driving will blow sky high. Then the phone goes dead.
Kevin panics. Who would make such a demand? What sin? Yet not sure what else to do, Kevin swerves into a parking lot and runs from his car. Just in case.
Precisely three minutes later, a massive explosion sets his world on a collision course with madness. And that's only the first move in this deadly game.

3. Wild Wolf Claiming by Rhyannon Byrd

She. Was. His.

Werewolf Elliot Connors had come to the sleepy town of Charity to stop a madman from claiming his next victims for his macabre collection of sex slaves. But his past has taught him well that nothing worth having ever comes easy. Now things are about to get bloody, dangerous…and wild.

4. The Alpha's Toy by Sam Crescent
To spare an innocent she has to become his plaything.
When Zeke attacks her pack, Mary, a half-breed wolf, wants to save a young wolf, but to do so, she has to accept his bargain. She must be his toy until the next full moon.

Even before the end of the month Mary becomes all he can think about, and he’s determined to keep his toy safe. Then a twist of fate lets him know she’s more than a toy. Mary is his mate. Can he overcome her fear of him and convince her to stay when her month is up?

5. Inferno by Adriana Noir

The lines are drawn. After stumbling across news of Project Blue and all it entails, Sebastian is left reeling.

The drums of war beat louder. Only time will tell who, and what, will remain standing in the end.

6. Explicit Instruction by Scarlett Finn

'I wouldn't do that if I were you.'
Stranded and searching for a phone, Flick inadvertently walks into danger.  But an unexpected reprieve comes in the form of a stranger, a looming silhouette more terrifying than the evil that captured her. From him she learns that danger has an alias, Rushe. He is abrupt, crude, domineering...and her only hope for survival.

7. Across A Moonlit Sea by Marsha Canham

A rip roaring high seas adventure set in Elizabethan England when dashing privateers known as sea hawks banded together to guard their country and their queen against the Invincible Armada being amassed by Spain. 9. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

10. Beautiful City of the Dead by Leander Watts

Zee joins Relly’s band, and immediately their sound is unbelievable; it’s like silence screaming. As the band bonds together, inexplicable things start happening and Zee begins to learn her true role in the group. She finds she is the last piece in a tetrad that, once formed, gives the group supernatural powers—each teen in the group represents one of the four elements: earth, air, water, and fire. At their first gig, she realizes that music isn’t all there is to Scorpio Bone . . .

What about you? Which blurbs made it impossible for you to put it down?

  2. I was thinking about doing the exact same thing for my post, after all they wouldn't have been on my TBR or read if I wasn't intrigued! It happened with Vampire Academy, I still need to continue with the series. Great list! I'm a new Bloglovin follower :)

    1. That's exactly what I thought... books end up on my TBR for one of two reasons usually-- the cover or the blurb-- unless, of course, it's part of a series I'm already reading.
You really should finish VA, it's one of my favorite series!
      Thanks for the follow!
