Gunnar is one fight away from cruiserweight champion, and one flight of stairs away from true love.
When Gunnar left his ex, the current cruiserweight champion, two years earlier and moved back to his hometown, he knew he was passing up his chance to win the world. The last thing he wants is to meet his ex in the ring while the world dubs it a grudge match. For the most part, he’s content with traveling. Being known as the casino champ isn’t a bad gig. He doesn’t realize he’s missing anything. That is, until Gunnar comes to a stranger’s rescue in the rain.
Liam isn’t a stranger at all. Not only has he been living upstairs from Gunnar for the past two years, they went to high school together. Since Liam’s changed a lot in the past few years, he doesn’t hold it against Gunnar for not recognizing him.
His issue with Gunnar is something else entirely—like that time Gunnar didn’t call.
Liam has no intention of falling victim to Gunnar’s charms twice. Life, on the other hand, has different plans.

Generally speaking, I don't read M/M. Nothing against it personally, I just can't normally get into the story. But this one... Wow! It was so good! I ended up reading it in one sitting, it's quick, cute, and light.
Gunnar and Liam are great MCs and are so well thought out! In fact, pretty much every character in the story is so believable and has so much personality. The only character I had a hard time believing was Boston. I think he needed a bit of work, but otherwise, the characters were outstanding.
Parkerson's writing style was superb. Part of my dislike of most M/M is that the characters often don't sound like men. Sure, there were a couple of times during Clinch that I had to remind myself that Liam was a man, but for the most part, they both sounded like males that were completely, head-over-heels in love with each other. The story flowed really well and the care that Ms. Parkerson took to write each scene is clearly evident.
This was a great second-chance love story and I am looking forward to the next installment to this new series!
